BIOGRAPHY Alison Mortiss Alison's fascination with glass, as an artist's medium began back in 1991, when she undertook a WEA course in Leadlighting and Copperfoil. Skill and passion resulted in Alison's first venture into the world of markets. Smaller pieces such as lampshades, bowls, platters and decorations have found themselves in collections in Britain , Ireland and the USA . 2001 saw the first commission to design and produce a commemorative leadlight window for the historic St Mark's Laguna, in memory of Les Sternbeck. Now in 2006, she is working on the fourth window for this church. Alison has continued to study and develop her use of various glassworking techniques to include successfully exhibited at the Royal Easter Show, Newcastle Show and Royal Canberra Show, where she has won prizes each time ranging from Highly Commended to First. Alison has also contributed works to Dobell Festival, Tea Gardens Art Show and Kincumber Art Show, and as a member of eO Central Coast Artists, she has exhibited at the State Parliament House in 2005.
